It all happens May 20th plus kickstarter stuff

Alright my Pretties It has come down to this. The count down has began. May 20th is the day of my operations. YAY!!!! My adams apple will be removed. To be more specific my left thyroid will be removed along with the large mass attached to it. If it does turn out to be cancer and if it has moved to my right thyroid the Doc is just going to take the whole gosh darn thing; but that is a worst case scenario.

On the bright side of things

I'm pretty sure i will have a table at the Wizard world NYexperience... just waiting to hear back from the.... I mean they took my money.. so i wanna asume yes. :) oh and as a plus I'll be there with the Awesomely talented artist of the ApocalypZe card game Chris Hanson.

(<,>) SOOOOOO since you can't really help me out with my operation stuff and getting better you could do me a solid.

Blatantly using her operation and sickness to manipulate people to support her friends' kickstarter... (-_-)
**It would be super awesome if you could donate some money to the ApocalypZe KickStarter. it's well worth it... plus you could get some cards from him; HE IS SO TALENTED!!!!

Another artist you could help out is Annie Stoll of Squid Salad. Her art is BEAUTIFUL ands she wants to make some merch and go on a comic con tour....... DONATE TO HER KICKSTARTER WHILE YOU ARE AT IT.

GIVE THEM ALL YOUR MONEYS!!!! and it may spead up my recovery. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

*Adams Apple update* Post Biopsy

ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch
I'm being so candid with you guys...

Had my Biopsy on Friday. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Even with the pain killers injected it was very unpleasant. In fact I think the injection was the worst part. They said I would feel burning... I would describe it more as jabbing me with thousands of needles... yeah, thats pretty accurate.

The Doc stuck me with 7 needles. Moving then around and trying to get good samples. Unfortunately for the Doc and Myself he couldn't get anything good. He just kept drawing blood out of it.

The good news is there is no calcium built up in my adams apple. However because the biopsy was inconclusive we still don't know what this lump is. The Doc says it's time to have it just removed.

I set a date for May 20th to go under and have this lil fella finally removed. Down on paper it states he hasn't decided to remove my whole thyroid or not.  Once removed I'm donating it science. I love Science! (Any of you med students out there better take caution, you may one day handle my adams apple in an experiment) Good news is after a two hour operation I will get to go home and rest up for a week.

I'm scared of the operation and what it may mean for me after. I will have a scar that I have come to terms with. I know if any one asks I have concocted this crazy story about rescuing a cruise ship from Pirates... lol. This operation may alter my voice... that scares me. I'm no singer but I LOVE my voice. Also i may need to take supplements for the rest of my life to regulate my thyroid. I really don't want to get fat... like REALLY REALLY REALLY. (no offense to my curvy friends. You are all beautiful.) So my life may change significantly after this... or it may not change at all. But I will try my best to make it a positive change.

And for everyone who asked, "Is it cancer?" I don't know. But it is getting removed. Maybe I will have an answer after... but really who knows.

I'll see a whole bunch of you in Albany come June and I'll show you my awesome scar!

Thanks so much for all your support. It means a lot... now you guys have to start yelling at me about getting work done... Ginger girls is still not done and I have a book i need to work on. AHHHHHH!!!!

The Big "C" word

lol What am I doing?
Cancer... I might not even have it!

A lot of you have been messaging me with concern that I haven't been as active this year. I normally would have my appearances posted and I would be setting dates to come out and see all you wonderful Pinky Punks.

I have been sick. Those that follow me on facebook know this already. There is a possibility that I have cancer connected to my Thyroid. There is a big'ol mass in my throat this look a bit like an Adams Apple. I have so lovingly decided to call it my... Adams apple (how fitting). At first it did not bother me. it could barely be seen, but over the past few months is has grown a lot.

About a week ago my left thyroid became inflamed and I was having trouble swallowing. I went to the emergency and got a cat scan done. They let me go and set up a date for a Biopsy, FINALLY!

My biopsy is tomorrow morning... and I'm terrified... of the needle. If this does turn out to be cancer it is very very very operable. I'm not going to die. Thyroid cancer is very common. But that doesn't change the fact that I am terrified of getting an operation. Cancer or not my Adams apple need to GO like yesterday.

I'm sick often and I just want to get back to work. I have an animation to finish and a book to begin. There is SOOOOO much I want to share with you guys. Just hang in there and I will too!

Please don't worry to much. I will be okay! Once I get the results of the Biopsy I will let everyone know.

Thanks for your continued support. I love you all!!!!!!

This is a big-ol-post

Part One: Ginger Girls update

It's like 11 minutes from the deepest darkest part of earth... my home studio. But really this was a semi-tutorial video of what I learned while working on the ginger girls animation (which i'm still working on) This will also be posted on the producer, Alexia Anastasio's blog

For now enjoy my soothing, monotoned (due to stressing too much) voice as I try to explain how I am an animator.

Part Two: Paperman

I pride myself in almost always knowing what technique used in animation. I can, with a small margin of error, almost always pinpoint the program or style used. Admittedly I'm a little smug about it. And then I saw Paperman...

OMG DISNEY HOW U DO THAT??? AINT NOBODY GOT TIME TO CREATE A NEW STYLE OF ANIMATION!!!

I started to cry like a little confused baby. Was it 2d animation... or 3d animation?

Disney has always been a pioneer in the animation field. in the 1930s Walt and his gang developed the glass multi plane camera. Background painted on multiple glass slates with a camera suspended above it. Moving the glass at different speeds created the illusion of depth. (I can now get the same results using toon boom studios camera... it's pretty darn awesome.)

Mult plane camera in toon boom studio 7.1

Well Paperman marks yet another break through in animation. Based on what i have researched it is a 2d/3d hybrid. To this I can only say, "FINALLY!!!!" 2d or hand drawn animation is starting to become a lost art. most big budget films are now cgi. I'm not saying CGI is terrible... but I feel like it just doesn't have the same connection to the artist as hand drawn.

How? How did Disney animation studios do this? Well based on youtube videos, they built a new program and bodda-bing-bodda-boom we have Paperman. The Disney Animation Youtube channel has a wonderful set of videos explaining the breakdown of Paperman. One in particular shows how you can draw on the character model on 2 different frames and it will create an in-between for the draw... THE DRAWING. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

I could try and explain the details of this mind blowing new style but I think you are better off going to the Disney Animation youtube channel.

So Pinky punks this is the end of the line. I have a lot of work to get done and I think I spent enough time gushing over Paperman. Back to the grind stone!

It's just so pretty!
